On a beach somewhere we find another character who's having trouble catching Pokémon, how is he supposed to fulfill his grandfather's wish without one? He hopes for a sign and behold, Hoopa's Poké Ball appears. The powerless form of this creature (Hoopa) was taken in by the king and looked after by him and his descendants until. Their power combined with the Plates of Arceus to create a prison for the dark force and to seal its power. The king turned to the Legendary Birds for help this time: Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres. Back in Borrius, the king had to deal with survivors who wanted compensation but he failed to help them out and so the survivors made use of that dark force to attack the kingdom. On the Kalos side we then get the story of the Kalos king AZ, Floette and the Ultimate Weapon which ended the war. Not done yet, the Borrian king sent his own army through those portals after the Kalos crew and waged a war on their turf.
It was at war with the Kalos region, Kalos got the advantage until the Borrian king got some help from a dark force that used its powers of creating portals to send the Kalos army back home. After that we get into some history of this game's main region - Borrius. Right before the intro, players are asked if they would like to skip certain cutscenes during gameplay, but the option can be changed at any time in the OPTIONS Menu.
